چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to show through laboratory results, the performance of the new DLIF (Double Low-IF) receiver architecture. This new approach minimizes the receiver’s cost by eliminating the need for RF image-reject and IF-Saw channel filters, avoids some of the shortcomings of direct conversion and single Low-IF methods and can be applied in GSM-like mobile stations. Performance results are presented in terms of Frame Error Rates and Residual Bit Error Rates and can thus be compared with GSM specifications.

The Design of Active Polyphase Filter

The fast growth of wireless applications in recent years has driven intense efforts to design highly integrated, high-performance, low-cost RFICs. Both low-IF [33]-[37] and double-quadrature [38]-[40] architectures have been adopted as promising receiver topologies to realize these design goals because they combine the advantages of heterodyne and direct-conversion architectures. In the low-IF ...

Digital I/q Imbalance Compensation in a Low-if Receiver

Double) Low-IF receiver architectures avoid the need for expensive image-reject and channel selection filters and so reduce cost. This approach however introduces the need for an accurate in-phase and quadrature version of the first local oscillator. In this document we present a way to digitally measure amplitude and phase imbalances and compensate for them. Simulations show image-reject value...

Adjacent Channel Interference Mitigation Schemes for Software Defined Radio Receiver July 2008 Anas Bin

Wireless communication technology such as cellular and wireless local area network (WLAN) systems have grown rapidly and generated various competing transmission formats. In the need of seamless communication across incompatible radio standards, software defined radio (SDR) concept has received much attention among researchers working in mobile and personal wireless communications. SDR is a tec...

A Differential FM Detector for Low-IF Radios

This paper describes the implementation of a differential Continuous Phase FSK (CPFSK) detector suitable for Low-IF receiver architectures. By using both in-phase and quadrature channels the double frequency term resulting after differential detection can be avoided. The digital detector assumes limited I/Q input signals which are 16 times oversampled. The proposed detector can be used for CPFS...

ITB/Electronics Receiver Front-End Design for WiMAX/LTE in 90 nm CMOS

The development of wireless communication systems into multi-standard radio architectures that can process a multitude of frequency bands and modulation schemes has lead to a growing demand for wideband receiver front-ends. To allow for portability and low cost, these new architectures also need to be low power, compact size integrated circuits with a higher degree of components integrated on c...
